Megan was born and raised in small-town Iowa. She was blessed to grow up in a family that honored the Lord, and she came to know Jesus as her Savior as a child. Her upbringing instilled in her a deep appreciation for a Christ-centered home and the impact of faithful discipleship in the family.
She attended Emmaus Bible College (now Emmaus University in Dubuque, Iowa), where she majored in Ministry Leadership. Megan has been serving on staff at Verde Community Church since January 2026 as the Operations Manager and Children’s Ministry Director.
Megan enjoys helping the church operate smoothly behind the scenes while also investing in the spiritual growth of children and families. She loves being part of creating environments where people feel welcomed, supported, and encouraged as they grow in their faith.
Outside of church, Megan enjoys playing, coaching, and watching sports, traveling across the globe, and spending time with family and friends. She is also a big coffee and tea drinker and loves meeting people over a good cup and conversation.
What is your favorite book?
Some of my favorite books are Anxious for Nothing by Max Lucado, The Ruthless Elimination of Hurry by John Mark Comer, and Come Matter Here by Hannah Brencher. And for a classic favorite, I also love Pride and Prejudice.
What is your favorite food?
My favorite food would have to be Mexican food or açaí bowls — but as someone who grew up in the Midwest, mac-n-cheese definitely deserves an honorable mention!
What is something most people wouldn’t know about you?
I’ve been to 33 out of the 50 states and have it on my bucket list to visit all 50 someday. I also spent two full summers living in Canada while working at a youth camp!
What is the most exciting thing for you to see God do in the lives of people?
I love seeing kids begin to understand who God is and how much He loves them. Watching their curiosity about Scripture grow, hearing the thoughtful questions they ask, and seeing them begin to follow Jesus is incredibly exciting. It’s a joy to be part of helping lay those early foundations of faith.
