Accept One Another

David Ferguson wrote in his book Never Alone Church, “We all have a deep relational need for others to accept who we are.” Each of us is longing for acceptance, and not acceptance just for the “normal” person we try to act like we are, but we truly want to be accepted for the kind of weird person that we actually are. The “accept one another” command we find in Romans 15:7 addresses this basic need and desire that we all have. The church is a beautiful thing; a bunch of imperfect people joining together to fulfill God’s perfect plan. Accepting one another is part of that plan.
