Colby is from a small town directly south of Atlanta, Georgia. While he has spent the majority of his life in the southeastern region of the United States, the thought of living in Arizona came with little hesitation.
Colby alongside his bride Savannah got married in June of 2019 and joined the team at Verde immediately after. He graduated from Point University (formerly known as Atlanta Christian College) in May of 2018 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Biblical Studies & Preaching. He also received his Master’s Degree in Strategic Ministry in May of 2019 from Point and was apart of a prestigious residential program at Christ’s Church of the Valley in Phoenix, Arizona.
Colby is a golfer, traveler and a huge sports fan. He ultimately aspires to see all of his beloved teams win a championship in their respective leagues (please don’t mention anything about Super Bowl 51). After previously spending time as a Student Pastor in Alabama, he is now embarking on a new journey leading the student ministry at Verde.

Sinners in the Hands of a Loving God: The Scandalous Truth of Very Good News, Brian Zahnd.
What or who is your most influential book or author?
There are two books that have been extremely formative within my faith: You Are What You Love: The Spiritual Power of Habit by James K.A. Smith as well as Christ & Culture by Richard Niebuhr.
I'll also read anything by Eugene Peterson!
What is your favorite food?
As crazy as it sounds, nothing beats Subway.
What is something most people wouldn’t know about you?
Most people would never know that I am the only person in the world who can lick their elbow.
What is the most exciting thing for you to see God do in the lives of people?
The most exciting thing for me to see God do in the lives of others is simply the transformational aspect. Being apart of someone’s life who just encountered the radical nature of the Gospel is incredibly unique and witnessing them journey towards the personhood of Christ is always so encouraging.
